December – a month of orange peels, crackling wood, burning candles, red (sometimes rose) wine, blanket scarfs and fluffy socks. A month of festivities, building up to a single day – Christmas.
What is Christmas? It’s the tenderness of the passing days, the value of the present and the expectation of the future. For my 19 years (and a half), Christmas has always been my favourite holiday. This year, being away from home for nearly 3 months for the first time in my life, made me anticipate it even more. Even though we don’t do anything too fancy or special around Christmas, my holiday spirit was on it’s peak. I had my presents planned out (even though I got most of them of 23rd Dec, oops!), wrapping sorted and decorations set up.
As the day finally came, I’m currently laying on my bed with a food coma, jamming out to Christmas music and cuddling my dog. Christmas morning was filled with laughter, joy and happiness. I couldn’t feel more relaxed, happy, loved and thankful. I hope you’re all happy, safe, warm and well with your favourite people around, enjoying the holidays in whatever way you prefer!
